5Turbo Design 101  Aug 25, 2008
Wow! Just what I was looking for. Corky has put together a collection of formulas and uncommon sense that is needed to design and build turbo systems. I love it.

I used this book to create an Excel worksheet full of needed design formulas. I can now make tradeoffs and design decisions before I build it, and I have a much better chance of getting what I expect, without a bunch of cut and try and try again attempts.

Corky's book will be a huge help to me, and I imagine it will be to you as well. This may not be the book for someone who is afraid of math, or who does not want to understand something. This book is not a cookbook approach, rather, it is a chef school delivering the reader with enough information to "cook up" his own turbo creation.

If you want the ability and confidence to design and build system that work, and that work the first time, this book will help you.

5great book  Aug 04, 2008
I recently developed a turbo system for a buddy of mine, mostly from the past knowledge of reading this book years ago. I recently purchased it again, since my original copy was misplaced. I used it to double check my design, & everything works, very well. I made a 18second car run mid 15s, with a junkyard turbo. The car has more potential also.

4good book on turbocharging  Aug 01, 2008
I believe this book covered turbocharging and what is needed in order to make your car operational with a turbo well. It is very good book if you go in with minimum knowledge of turbos. It tells you good information on setting up your car with a turbo and choosing the right one. But I do recommend to get the most out of it you need some good understanding of cars and engines before you read it. I am only giving it four stars because it tells a lot about good part characteristics but the putting it all together chapter could be much more in depth and do more cars plus the aerocharger is referenced more than once and I can't find where to buy one anywhere on the internet.

2Did not meet my expectations  Apr 02, 2008
There is some good theory in this book, but it is sparse. I feel this book is more an introduction to turbos, rather than the highly technical how to do it all yourself, book I was looking for. I would not feel comfortable picking out a turbo for my car, after reading this book. This book was a huge letdown for me.

5Great book  Mar 19, 2008
It lived up to the expectations. It tries to cover everything about tuning turbocharged engines, so not every aspect is as detailed as the next. Still a great buy, although the images look a bit old fashioned.
